Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking a security-oriented professional at our Little River, SC campus to maintain a safe, orderly environment. You will support patients and staff, monitor access points, and respond to incidents in a healthcare setting.

Qualified candidates will hold a High School Diploma, complete SLED requirements, undergo a psychological evaluation, and obtain CPI/Heartsaver certifications within 90 days of hire. The role includes a rotating 80 hours bi-weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• SLED firearms qualification prior to employment.
• Psychological evaluation completed before employment.
• Half-mile run completed before employment.
• SLED firearms certification kept current.
• CPI and Heartsaver certifications within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional image and customer relations per Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Assist in maintaining a quiet, safe environment at the campus.
• Ensure area assigned is secure and safe for staff and visitors.
• Investigate crime and traffic incidents as needed.
• Provide assistance for patients, visitors and staff as requested.
• Handle specialty duties as assigned.
• Supervise and maintain traffic flow at the loading dock.
• Schedule dock time for special events and maintain logs of vehicles.
• Escort Administrative staff to designated locations safely and promptly.
• Monitor playback of Health & Fitness Center camera system.

• Assist in maintaining a quiet, safe environment at the assigned Campus.
• Must ensure that the area (post) he/she is assigned is secure.
• Must investigate crime and traffic accidents
• Provide assistance for patients, visitors and staff as requested.
• Specialty duties as assigned

Work Schedule

80 hours bi-weekly, rotating shift

Qualifications/Training

• Must be 21 years of age(SLED Requirement) and be able to complete SLED firearms qualification prior to employment
• Must pass the McLeod Health Psychological Evaluation prior to employment
• Must complete ½ mile run prior to employment
• Must maintain annual SLED firearms certification.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school
• Receive security certification/registration from SLED by completion of training (Primary Basic and Primary Plus) within 90 days from hire.
• Must possess a valid SC driver’s license
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire
• Heartsaver within 90 days of hire

Monadnock Baton within 90 days of hire
