Job summary

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking a Security Officer to join the Security Department on a PRN basis. The role focuses on protecting patients, staff and visitors across the Kaufman campus and clinics, with after-hours patrols and rapid response responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and may have an Associate's degree in security-related fields. Licensed security credentials and ongoing training are required to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field is preferred.
  • 2 Years security, law enforcement, or military police is preferred.
  • 2 Years healthcare or education is preferred.
  • DL - Driver's License Class C and insurable.
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 30 Days is required.
  • NCSO - Non-Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 2 (not required if have Level 3) 120 Days is required.
  • CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 3 (2 attempts permitted). Biannual recertification. 120 Days is required.
  • TASER Certification Complete Course & Certification (2 attempts permitted). Annual recertification. 120 Days is required.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol buildings and clinics for unlocked secured areas for after-hour entry.
  • Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property.
  • Randomly monitors building openings and closings to ensure safety protocols are being adhered to.
  • Greets people with courtesy and respect using the 10/5 rule
  • Assess the situation and utilizes appropriate de-escalation measures
  • Responds to and activates the appropriate emergency response code

Security Department highlights:
  • This position is part of the team that provides 24/7 security services to Texas Health Kaufman and reports to the Security Site Supervisor.
  • This role has a high degree of engagement with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Customer service orientation is highly desirable.
Here's What You Need
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • Associate's Degree Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field is preferred
  • 2 Years security, law enforcement, or military police is preferred
  • 2 Years healthcare or education is preferred
  • DL - Drivers License Class C and insurable
  • Upon Hire Req AndACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 30 Days is required

  • Ability to make independent decisions with tact and mature/positive attitude. ability to assume responsibilities.
  • Ability to be cooperative, discreet and courteous within scope of assigned authority.
  • Must possess the ability to physically defend and/or restrain people.
  • Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation.
