Job summary

Covenant Village Retirement Community seeks two PRN Security Officers dedicated to keeping residents, visitors, and staff safe. You will patrol the building, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents, complete daily and incident reports, and coordinate with the Director of Security and local police as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years in security or law enforcement, a valid driver’s license, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent communication and resident-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the facility and cottages; monitors security systems.
• Investigates and reports suspicious activity; completes daily and incident reports.
• Contacts Director of Security and local police as needed; supports Code Red procedures.
• Unlocks exterior doors at set times and secures doors as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned; assists Medical Transportation Driver when needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and a professional, resident-focused demeanor.

We are currently seeking two PRN (as needed) Security Officers who are committed to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.Position SummaryAs a Security Officer, you will help maintain the safety and security of our retirement community through regular patrols, monitoring facilities, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service.ResponsibilitiesPatrols the entire building on a non-routine basis. Checks all floors of each wing, laundry rooms, trash rooms, storage rooms, fire exits, public areas, and public restrooms.Patrols cottages on a non-routine basis in the Security cart.Investigates and reports any suspicious people or activity.Completes proper paperwork: Daily Report, Case Report, and/or Incident Report.Contacts the Director of Security and/or Gastonia City Police for any apprehension.Confers with the Nursing Department during shift for any information.Unlocks exterior doors at a set time.Secures all exterior doors and offices at set times.Turns fire logs on and off at set times.Fills in for the Medical Transportation Driver, when needed.Follows all Code Red Procedures – Security’s role. Listens for announcements, assists in locating Code Red, assists with any residents as needed, assists in combating the Code Red as needed until the Fire Department arrives.Monitors security camera system for suspicious activity.Maintains a professional, friendly, efficient, and spirit of service toward residents, employees, guests, and visitors.Maintains confidentiality and respect for residents and employee privacy.Creates an environment of pride and quality among all employees, encouraging them to achieve their highest potential.Champions the mission, vision, and CV CARES core values of the community with all employees, residents, families, and guests.Adheres to all Covenant Village policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned by management in a cooperative manner.Completes all assigned training by the deadline.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.At least two years’ experience in security or law enforcement, preferred.At least 21 years old.Valid driver’s license and good driving record.Availability to work when needed.Excellent communication, resident relations, organizational skills, customer service orientation, and leadership ability.Ability to work independently with initiative and as a collaborative and supportive member of a team.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Warm and personable image, demonstrating the ability to connect effectively with the senior population across diverse functional abilities.
