Job summary

Covenant Village Retirement Community in Gastonia, NC seeks two PRN Security Officers to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents, visitors and staff. You will patrol, monitor facilities, respond to incidents, and provide courteous service while upholding CV CARES values.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, and at least two years in security or law enforcement, plus a valid driver’s license. You’ll join a compassionate team dedicated to dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years’ experience in security or law enforcement, preferred.
• At least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Availability to work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the entire building on a non-routine basis; check all floors, rooms, and public areas.
• Patrol cottages on a non-routine basis in the Security cart.
• Investigates and reports any suspicious people or activity.
• Completes Daily Report, Case Report, and/or Incident Report.
• Contacts the Director of Security and/or Gastonia City Police for any apprehension.
• Confers with Nursing during shift for information.
• Unlock exterior doors at set times and secure doors/offices.
• Turn fire logs on and off at set times.
• Fills in for the Medical Transportation Driver when needed.
• Monitors Code Red procedures and assists residents until Fire Department arrives.

Position Summary

As a Security Officer, you will help maintain the safety and security of our retirement community through regular patrols, monitoring facilities, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Patrolsthe entire building on a non-routine basis.Checksall floors of each wing, laundry rooms, trash rooms, storage rooms, fire exits, public areas, and public restrooms.
• Patrolscottages on a non-routine basis in the Security cart.
• Investigates and reports any suspicious people or activity.
• Completesproper paperwork: Daily Report, Case Report, and/or Incident Report.
• ContactstheDirector ofSecurity and/or Gastonia City Police for any apprehension.
• Conferswith the Nursing Department during shift for any information.
• Unlocksexterior doors ata settime.
• Securesall exterior doors and offices at set times.
• Turnsfire logs on and off at set times.
• Fillsin for the Medical Transportation Driver, when needed.
• Followsall Code Red Procedures – Security’s role.Listens for announcements,assistsinlocatingCode Red,assistswith any residents as needed,assistsin combating the Code Red as needed until the Fire Department arrives.
• Monitors security camera system for suspicious activity.
• Maintains a professional, friendly, efficient, and spirit of service toward residents, employees, guests, and visitors.

Physical Requirements

Physical Requirements include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking long distances, ability to lift 75 pounds at times, balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop, adequate dexterity in hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
