Qualifications

Security Officer

We are looking for a qualified Security Officer to join our Texas Health family.

Position Highlights:

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave TX 76104

Work hours: PRN

Department Highlights:

Security provides services 24/7 including vehicle escorts, patrols in building and in parking areas, response to service calls.

Education

  1. H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
  2. Associate degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security, or closely related field preferred.

Experience

  1. 2 Years security or law enforcement preferred.
  2. 2 Years healthcare or education preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  1. DL - Driver’s License Class C and insurable required upon hire.
  2. CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 2 (not required if have Level 3) required within 14 Days of hire.
  3. CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 3 (2 attempts permitted). Biannual recertification required after 60 Days of hire.
  4. TASER Certification Complete Course & Certification (2 attempts permitted). Annual recertification required after 60 Days of hire.
  5. ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 30 Days Required.

What You Will Do:

  1. Perform officer duties to include, but not limited to:
  2. Patrol buildings and ground for unlocked secured areas for after hour entry.
  3. Lock and open doors according to schedules.
  4. Provide individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.
  5. Identify and remove unauthorized individuals from property.
  6. Enforce campus parking policies/cite violations.
  7. Maintain compliance with Security policies.
  8. Pursue and detain persons involved in criminal activity.
  9. Fill out incident/offense report forms and compose narratives.
  10. Give directions to areas of facility.
  11. Interact with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.
  12. Provide vehicle assistance.
  13. Patrol interior/perimeter of campus and parking.
  14. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
  15. Report and escalate situations to the Threat Management team as appropriate.
  16. Provide quality customer service to Texas Health employees, visitors, and guests.
  17. Greet people with courtesy and respect using the 10/5 rule.
  18. Provide directions and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests.
  19. Provide general information regarding Texas Health campuses.
  20. Provide transport/and escorts to and from campus parking lots.
  21. Respond timely to calls for service and emergency situations.
  22. Assess the situation and utilize appropriate de-escalation measures.
  23. Utilize critical thinking skills and provide the appropriate level of force for the situation.
  24. Respond to and activate the appropriate emergency response code.
  25. Interact with and provide assistance to Police, Fire, EMS, and other emergency staff as required.
