Position Summary

(General statement reflecting the overall purpose of the position.) Security Officer 1 (Unarmed Security) are instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors and visitors by monitoring and patrolling our facilities. Officers demonstrate exceptional customer service while providing assistance with disruptive incidents, emergency services, personal protection and traffic/parking control. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience
• None minimum experience required; preferred two to three years in security, law enforcement, or military background
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate state license/certifications
• Must maintain a valid state driver’s license
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 60 days of employment
• Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, going up and down stairs, and emergency lifting
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and pass background checks
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently
