Job Overview

The RWJBH Security Officer ensures a safe and secure environment for all patients, visitors, and staff with a blend of vigilance and compassionate service. Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid New Jersey Driver's License with eligibility for RWJBarnabas Health insurance coverage
• Ability to acquire de-escalation training certification within ninety (90) days of hire

Preferred:

• At least one (1) year of customer service, security experience, or military service
• Proficiency in keyboarding/data entry and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Polish) are preferred but not required

Essential Functions

• Conduct patrols and monitor facilities to maintain security, adapting to indoor and outdoor posts
• Provide professional customer service while vigilantly addressing potential security threats
• Manage access control, perform data entry, and use Microsoft Office for reporting and administrative tasks
• Engage effectively with a diverse population through strong interpersonal communication
• Perform weapon screening and enforce facility policies to ensure safety
• Respond to emergencies and participate in crisis de-escalation training
• Other duties as assigned, which may change over time
