Job summary

Allied Universal in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Protection to serve and safeguard clients across education and other sectors. You will monitor assigned areas, deter incidents, and maintain a welcoming campus environment while providing exceptional customer service.

As an unarmed security professional, you will report security concerns, follow campus protocols, and document daily activities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, campus‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, parking areas, walkways, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and daily observations through clear and accurate reports while maintaining professional communication with the campus community.
