Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Hartford, CT to patrol unarmed at a financial institution. You will deliver customer service, monitor access points, support badge access, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents.

You will use tablets/computers to document activity and follow site-specific procedures. Ideal candidates have guard credentials, 1+ year security/supervision experience, and are 18+ (21+ for armed roles).

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the business, including interior and perimeter locations.
• Monitor and report unusual activity, policy violations, maintenance concerns, and hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with visitor management and incident documentation per site requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the business, including interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, as assigned.
• Monitor and report unusual activity, policy violations, maintenance concerns, and potential hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with visitor management, employee access procedures, and incident documentation in accordance with site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, or 2 or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
