Job summary

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is seeking a Security Officer within the Facilities Department to uphold safety and security across Center locations. Reporting to Security Supervisor, you will conduct patrols, enforce policies, and safeguard staff, clients, and property.

The role requires at least 1 year of security experience, a California Guard card, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly. Full-time, non-exempt, union position with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a security guard.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to deal with unruly people in a firm and non-antagonizing manner.
• Availability to work a rotating shift and weekends as scheduled.
• State of California Guard card is required.
• Must be sensitive to the needs and concerns of LGBT youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment on Center premises.
• Enforce Los Angeles LGBT Center policies and procedures.
• Complete hourly patrols and report suspicious activities or hazards.
• Assist local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
