Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Springfield, IL to protect government locations by patrolling assigned areas and maintaining a visible presence. You will deliver professional customer service, follow site procedures, and respond to incidents with calm, decisive actions.

The role requires at least one year of security-related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

• Background check required in accordance with laws.

• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting unusual conditions or policy violations to designated personnel.
• Complete daily activity reports and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to designated personnel.
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
