Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed) in Marina Del Rey, CA to monitor, patrol, and protect clients across Retail/Malls and other environments. You will provide courteous service, maintain a visible presence, and deter incidents while following site procedures and reporting as needed.

This role offers flexible day and night shifts with the ability to build a schedule via our shift platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, problem-solving manner following site procedures.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior or policy violations to site management.
• Complete accurate activity reports and shift communications as required.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the retail location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
