Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in Newark, CA. You will patrol, monitor access points, and deter security incidents while providing excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and drivers.

The role offers flexible scheduling (Fri/Sat nights) and opportunities to use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to move between shifts. A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of loading areas, yards, parking areas, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and report observations to site contacts or responders.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers. Job Schedule:

• Fri 09:00 PM - 05:00 AM
• Sat 09:00 PM - 05:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, building entrances, and the perimeter of a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and other security-related concerns through visible patrol presence, observation, and timely reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
