Job summary

Allied Universal in Florence, NJ is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer to monitor facilities, assist employees and visitors, and respond to alarms with calm, professional judgment. You will perform routine patrols, control access points, document incidents, and work as part of a collaborative team focused on safety, service, and integrity.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology‑focused location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, offices, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or unauthorized access concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and report access‑control concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols and contacting emergency services when needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports, document observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
