Job summary

Allied Universal® in New Bern, NC is hiring a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol). You will serve and safeguard clients across manufacturing and industrial sites, maintaining a visible presence and delivering professional customer service with integrity.

Responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, reporting observations, verifying access, and responding to incidents while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Flexible scheduling offered.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site and Allied Universal protocols.
• Report observed hazards, equipment concerns, property damage, and security‑related incidents to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
