Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time security officer for an unarmed driving role in Chesapeake, VA. You will conduct driving and foot patrols at a commercial property, deter incidents, and report security-related concerns while maintaining a visible, welcoming presence for tenants and visitors.

Minimum requirements include 6 months of security experience, a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor building access, observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, and report unauthorized access attempts, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders as directed by established protocols.
• Document daily activities, patrol findings, incidents, and visitor or contractor information in required reports and logs.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least six months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
