Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol) in Washington, DC. You will patrol campus areas, deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other campus events calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate with supervisors and campus contacts.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical campus events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
