Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Pepper Spray Patrol in Falls Church, VA. This role offers flexible, anchor shifts and the opportunity to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is "$18.30 per hour" with a fixed day schedule (DayTime Sat 03:00 PM - 09:00 PM) and a path to build up to a full schedule of up to 40 hours per week. Candidates must meet minimum security experience and education requirements.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience required.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required by law; licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while executing security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly following reporting procedures.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols in healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; provide directions and report unusual conditions.
• Complete accurate activity logs and shift documentation per site requirements.

Pay Rate: $18.30 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat03:00 PM - 09:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions or assistance as needed, and report unusual conditions to appropriate site contacts.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security‑related experience is required.
• Possess pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
