Job summary

Allied Universal in Allentown, PA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to monitor and protect client sites, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service. You will patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, and respond to security-related concerns in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers a part-time schedule (Fri/Sat nights) with pay of $17.00 per hour and opportunities to grow through training and our shift-claim platform.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in line with federal, state, local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws; driver’s license required for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology/telecom site per site policies.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and deliveries; maintain logs and reports.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly following protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter to identify unusual activity.
• Support a professional workplace by clear communication and documentation of observations.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and delivery procedures in accordance with site requirements; maintain accurate security-related logs and reports.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Support a professional workplace environment by communicating clearly with site personnel, following post instructions, and documenting security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
