Summary
Security Officer 1 (Unarmed Security) plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors, and visitors by monitoring and patrolling facilities. Officers demonstrate exceptional customer service while assisting with disruptive incidents, emergency services, personal protection, and traffic/parking control. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

1. MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two to three years in a security role, law enforcement, or military background.
3. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate state license/certifications for this position.
4. Level II Noncommissioned Security Officer with the Texas Commission on Private Security within 60 days of hire.
5. Valid state driver’s license.
6. Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
7. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training within 60 days of employment or transfer into the department.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

• Texas Security Officer Commission Level III
