Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer at our Bakersfield, CA site to provide safety and customer service in a Retail/Malls environment. You will patrol, monitor, and respond to incidents following site procedures.

The role offers a flexible schedule with Friday and Saturday shifts and opportunities for growth through training and our Shift-claiming platform.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular unarmed foot or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and unauthorized access and report observations to site leadership.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 02:30 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sat: 02:30 PM - 11:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and unauthorized access, and report observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and support for retail operations while maintaining professional communication and accurate activity reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
