Allied Universal in Carson, CA is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol. The role offers reliable, fixed shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform, enabling you to earn more while maintaining work-life balance.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as required by law.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and visitors while following procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols in the community and report concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify entry, and document activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and notify relevant personnel or emergency services.
• Prepare daily activity and incident reports and share with supervisors.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Courtesy Services in Carson, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, community policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the residential community, including common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations, while reporting observed concerns.


• Monitor access points and community activity, verify authorized entry when required, and document visitor, vendor, and/or delivery activity according to site‑specific procedures.


• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.


• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.


• A guard card or license is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
