Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security company, is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Licensed Patrol Observer in New York, NY. You will serve and safeguard clients across government and other facilities, building a visible presence with professional conduct to deter incidents.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screening may be required by law.

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors and staff with professionalism. You will conduct routine patrols, communicate clearly, and contribute to a welcoming environment through Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven approach.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeWed04:00 PM - 12:00 AMThur08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and promptly in required reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
