Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time in New York, NY. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts via our platform, aiming to provide reliable hours and earnings flexibility for part-time staff.

Pay rate ranges from $21.20 to $22.20 per hour. The schedule is daytime, with a typical shift from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM on Fridays, and opportunities to grow toward a fuller schedule if desired.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly following school protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, common areas, exterior grounds and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report suspicious conditions and document incidents.
• Support a welcoming educational environment through professional communication with school personnel and site leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Status Review in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, student‑related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established school protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, entrances, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious conditions or behavior, and document incidents in accordance with site procedures.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by communicating professionally with school personnel and following directions from site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
