Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Austin, TX to patrol campus areas, monitor access points, and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. You will respond to incidents, document events, and communicate with campus leadership while maintaining a visible security presence.

The role requires at least one year in security, a high school diploma, and compliance with background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with campus representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $19.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sat 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Sun 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site-specific procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with campus representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
