Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Communications in Chantilly, VA. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts and earn more through our scheduling platform.

The position pays $20.50 per hour with daytime and evening schedules and a path to full-time hours. Candidates should have a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property management personnel by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of the property to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, observe visitor activity, and report suspicious behavior or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and following post orders.
• Prepare clear activity, incident, and patrol reports as required.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Communications in Chantilly, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat04:00 PM - 12:00 AMSun04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or property management personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of commercial property buildings, parking areas, common areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, observe visitor and contractor activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
