Job summary

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Access Control in Orlando, FL. You will monitor shelters, assist residents, visitors, and staff, and deter security incidents while maintaining a visible presence and providing courteous service.

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a flexible schedule using our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Security license preferred.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; maintain awareness of persons entering and leaving the location.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy concerns to Allied Universal leadership and designated site personnel.

You will use clear communication and a caring, people-first approach while working with integrity and teamwork to support a welcoming environment.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
