Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Alarm Panel Patrol) in Durham, NC. You will patrol and safeguard clients across technology, media, and telecom locations, maintaining a visible presence and responding to alarms while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers flexible part-time shifts (Fri/Sat nights) with pay at $20.09 per hour and opportunities to grow, train, and access our shift-claim platform.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of security-related experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required by Allied Universal.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, data center areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access control points and verify visitor/contractor authorization.
• Respond to incidents and alarms; document actions taken and notify appropriate personnel.
• Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation with clear communication.

Pay Rate: $20.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, data center areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access control points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report access discrepancies or unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
• Complete detailed patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while communicating relevant security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
