Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for a patient-area assignment in Baltimore, MD. You will provide courteous customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a secure healthcare environment.

The role includes unarmed patrols, access control support, and clear incident reporting. A hospital vaccination requirement, prior security experience, and a valid driver’s license (where applicable) are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies following established protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, credential verification, and access-control procedures.
• Document incidents and patrol activity and communicate with Allied Universal leadership.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while responding to routine needs. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM
• Tue 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disruptive behavior, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, credential verification, and access-control procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least two years of security-related experience.
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be able to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
