Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer at the front desk of a financial institution in Hackensack, NJ. You will greet visitors, control access, and provide excellent customer service while following site procedures and safety policies.

This role requires at least one year of security experience, with a preference for a state or local security license, and includes a background check and drug screen where permitted by law. 18+ (21+ for armed roles) and HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sat 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and/or vendors at the front desk of a financial institution while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor access to the location by greeting and screening visitors, verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate visitor records.
• Answer incoming calls, provide directions and general information, and communicate professionally with personnel, visitors, and appropriate contacts.
• Observe lobby and entry activity, monitor applicable access-control systems and/or cameras, and report unusual activity or concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and/or designated personnel when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
