Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior, exterior, parking, and perimeter areas to identify hazards or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Monitor access points and observe movement of people and vehicles per site procedures.
• Document incidents and patrols accurately and communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Digital Reporting in Cranford, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sat 12:00 AM - 07:00 AM Sun 12:00 AM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, exterior areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Monitor access points and observe the movement of people and vehicles in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Possess a state, county, or city-issued security-related license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
