Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for Lenexa, KS. You will manage access points, verify credentials, and patrol designated areas at a logistics and distribution site.

Position offers flexible day-time scheduling with shifts and the opportunity to use our Claim a Shift platform to pick additional hours. Candidates must meet minimum age and education requirements and pass standard background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicant subject to background investigation as required by law.
• Applicant subject to drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local law.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access-control policies.
• Monitor and control access points for employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel; verify credentials and maintain visitor records.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and business perimeter.
• Maintain accurate logs and complete required reports related to visitor activity, access events, incidents, and patrol observations.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control access points for employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel; verify credentials, maintain visitor records, and follow established entry and exit procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly communicate observations to site leadership and appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate logs and complete required reports related to visitor activity, access events, incidents, and patrol observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
