Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Security Officer in Carteret, NJ. You will welcome visitors, manage access, monitor activity, and respond to incidents with professional customer service while helping maintain a secure environment. Position type: Part-Time.

Pay rate: $21.63 per hour. Schedule includes DayTime Tue 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM and Sat 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law; drug screen per policy.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at a front desk for a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Manage visitor access by greeting guests, verifying IDs, issuing credentials, and logging visits.
• Monitor doors, alarms, cameras, and other security systems and report issues.
• Respond calmly to incidents and escalate per procedures.
• Answer calls, provide site information, coordinate with building personnel and responders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a front desk within a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Manage visitor access by greeting guests, verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate visitor logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems from the front desk, reporting unusual activity, access concerns, and system issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Answer and direct calls, provide site information, coordinate with building personnel and/or emergency responders, and maintain clear written reports and shift documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
