Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for a foot patrol in Jonestown, PA. You will provide unarmed security, assist customers, and maintain a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff while reflecting Allied Universal’s culture of teamwork and integrity.

You will work a set schedule with opportunities to pick additional shifts through the Claim a Shift platform and gain experience across Retail/Malls environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and staff by following security procedures and location policies.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and emergencies.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of retail spaces, common areas, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for security concerns such as suspicious activity and access issues and report observations.
• Maintain a professional presence and assist with access control and directions as needed.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to concerns while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture through teamwork and integrity.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $15.91 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for security-related concerns such as suspicious activity, access issues, and potential hazards, and report observations according to location procedures.
• Maintain a professional presence while assisting with access control, directions, and communication with store personnel and/or responding agencies as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
