Responsibilities

• Verify identification and access credentials before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify site contacts and responders.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening Checkpoint in Romeoville, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.04 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, and authorized items entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures; document and report prohibited or suspicious items and activities.
• Verify identification, access credentials, shipping‑related documentation, and visitor authorization before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, facility access points, business operations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
