Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Houston, TX. You will manage access, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and support a secure environment at a chemical/petrochemical location while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role offers flexible scheduling via our Claim a Shift platform; pay rate is $14.00 per hour. Schedule includes Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical or petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification, processing visitors and contractors, maintaining entry records, and following site-specific authorization requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating information through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or irregular conditions.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, visitor logs, incident documentation, and other required records in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
