Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Driver) in Montgomery, AL to patrol, monitor access, and provide top-notch customer service to tenants and visitors. This role involves driving between site areas and maintaining a visible security presence to deter incidents.

You will work a daytime and overnight schedule with a requirement to pass background checks and a drug screen where permitted by law. Prior security and driving experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required per policy.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as permitted by law.
• Drug screen per law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor credentials; document incidents.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas and perimeters.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with site contacts and responders.
• Report maintenance concerns and suspicious activity to site personnel and leadership.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and other security-related observations to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
