Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for Unarmed Patrol at a shelter location in Wilmington, NC. You will monitor entrances, conduct patrols, assist residents, staff, and visitors, and respond calmly to incidents while providing friendly service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and report unusual behavior, maintenance concerns, or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem‑solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and incoming personnel.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $16.40 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Sun 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
