Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and campus events calmly and report to authorities as directed.
• Conduct regular foot/vehicle patrols of buildings, residences, parking, and grounds to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and campus activity; report maintenance and policy violations.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and logs and communicate with supervisors.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and critical campus events in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, grounds, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be able to ride a bike.
• Preferably be able to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Preferably be able to ride a bike for long periods of time.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
