Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer in Philadelphia, PA. You will perform unarmed patrols by bike and on foot, ensuring safety, access control, and excellent customer service for campus communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Must be 21+ years old and able to obtain necessary clearances.
• Ability to lift 20+ pounds is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, parking facilities, and surrounding perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following campus protocols and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report unauthorized access or policy concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, parking facilities, and surrounding perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report unauthorized access or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
