Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in New Castle, DE. You will manage access, verify credentials, monitor alarm panels, and deliver customer service at a tech/telecom location. The role offers a flexible Part Time schedule with Fri and Sat shifts, and pay of $24.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge issuance preferred.
• Comfort using computers or tablets for logbooks and entry systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, issue and collect visitor badges, and maintain logs.
• Respond to access control alarms and incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner following procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of entrances and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and leadership regarding security concerns.

Job Schedule

• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect visitor badges, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to access control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, restricted areas, parking facilities, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns, access requests, and incident information.

Minimum Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
