Job Summary

• This position covers weekends, Saturday – Sunday from 6:00pm to 6:00am.

We are seeking a Security Officer for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, NV.

Ensures the protection of organizational personnel and company property against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. Inspects credentials and facilities, reports irregularities, alarm activations, and tampering. Develops, implements, and administers programs designed to protect personnel and property. Ensures compliance with security policies and procedures, safeguarding intellectual property. Conducts investigations to identify noncompliance and possible legal breaches.

Responsibilities

• Greet, screen, record, and allow visitors and employees admittance to the site following company procedures.
• Monitor security and environmental systems; investigate and report incidents.
• Report unauthorized persons and initiate protective actions without risking personal harm.
• Enforce physical safety and security policies; conduct patrols and monitor security measures.
• Perform visual inspections through regular patrols of the facility grounds.
• Document security activities and generate incident reports as needed.
• Monitor facility equipment during tours, report failures, reset alarms, and assist with minor repairs.
• Contact emergency personnel as required and assist in emergency response efforts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Availability to work weekends and provide coverage during vacations and sick leaves.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; associate degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of security experience, including at least 6-12 months in a related role.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

The pay starts at $19/hr. Salaries vary based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
