Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed) for Northlake, IL, to protect clients across Retail/Malls and other industries. The role offers a flexible schedule via our Claim a Shift platform and a $20.00 hourly pay rate.

As a Security Officer, you will perform patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service. Prior security experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a retail distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter to identify unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and assist visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers per site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs with accurate patrol and security details.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a retail distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or access concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and assist with visitor, contractor, and delivery-driver procedures in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs with accurate details regarding patrols, access activity, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
