Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with policy, documenting incidents and communicating information to relevant personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation with a professional presence.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Deterrence Patrol in New Brunswick, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 10:00 PM - 04:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with property policies, documenting incidents and communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence throughout the residential location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
