Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Tablet Assisted Patrol in Durham, NC. You will provide unarmed security at a healthcare location, perform routine patrols, control access, and assist patients, visitors, and staff using our tablet-based tools.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities.

• Conduct regular unarmed patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical-related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directing individuals to appropriate locations while maintaining awareness of restricted areas.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately and promptly, escalating security-related concerns according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
