Job summary

Securitas USA is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Dekal b, IL. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment through access control, patrolling, and enforcing client site policies. You will interact with client staff and guests while using security technology.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. Pre-employment screening is required, with opportunities for training and growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology devices during shift and conduct property tours.

Security Officer - Part Time

Primary Location: Dekalb, IL

Wage: $19.50/HR

Schedules:

• Mon, Wed, & Fri - Sat: 6PM - 11PM
• Mon, Wed, & Fri: 12PM - 6PM

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time.
