Job summary

Loews Coral Gables Hotel is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect guests, team members, and property. You will patrol the property, control access, and respond to incidents to maintain a safe, worry-free environment.

The role requires calm decision-making under pressure, strong communication with guests and colleagues, and adherence to safety procedures. Veterans and military spouses encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel security or related field preferred (1–3 years)
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Ability to operate departmental vehicles (including electric transport)
• First aid certification or ability to administer first aid preferred
• Knowledge of security systems, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols preferred
• Experience with CCTV and security technology preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to team member entrances, ensuring a secure environment for guests and staff.
• Perform regular hotel patrols to identify safety hazards and protect guest experience.
• Respond to emergencies per Emergency Response Procedures, safeguarding lives and property.
• Maintain logs for visitor access and package removal to enhance security.
• Inspect packages entering and leaving the premises to prevent unauthorized items.
• Document security incidents and actions taken for transparency and accountability.
• Enforce hotel policies consistently to uphold safety and respect.
• Interact with guests professionally to address concerns and improve experience.
• Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities.
• Coordinate with management on safety-related maintenance issues.
• Manage lost and found items to uphold standards.
• Support health and safety training initiatives.
• Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Collaborate with team members to support health and safety training initiatives, reinforcing a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
