Allied Universal in Houston, TX is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable security services at a designated site. The role offers flexible, fixed shifts with the potential to pick up additional hours through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $16.00 per hour. Daytime schedule on Sundays from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with opportunities to grow into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, following client policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, as assigned.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity, policy violations, and/or disturbances through visible presence, routine patrols, and professional interaction with customers, visitors, and store personnel.
• Monitor access points, observe on-site conditions, and communicate with management and/or first responders as needed regarding security-related incidents or operational concerns.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun02:00 PM - 10:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
