Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking an On‑Call Security Officer to serve at our Ministry Center located in Greensboro, NC. Utilize your law enforcement or security training to enforce procedures and regulations at our aircraft hangar and ministry center. This position involves monitoring campus through patrols, video surveillance, and access control while maintaining a visible presence and responding to emergencies.

On‑Call Duty Details

• Shifts vary from 8–12 hours; may cover one shift or a full 3–5 day shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as an effective witness.
• Conduct yourself as a security professional, deterring undesirable activity.
• Greet staff and visitors to maintain consistent visible presence.
• Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic for authorization to enter premises.
• Operate equipment such as card access, fire and burglar alarms, video cameras, and ministry vehicles.
• Report hazardous conditions and follow call‑in procedures for emergencies.
• Identify threatening individuals and alert local law enforcement.
• Familiarize with Samaritan's Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Monitor activity across campus through patrols and video surveillance.
• Control access to campus during non‑business hours; open/close and secure buildings as scheduled.
• Document noteworthy activity in shift log or incident report.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic law enforcement training and minimum 3 years experience as a law enforcement officer or equivalent.
• Eligible to complete and pass any required training and certifications.
• Basic keyboarding and computer skills preferred.
• Motivated self‑starter, proactive, trustworthy, and mature.
• Patient with routine tasks, yet quick on feet for crises.
• Fluency in English required.
• 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies strongly preferred.
