Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is hiring a Security Officer to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. You will help ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors, and property across the campus.

Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring security systems, controlling access, and reporting incidents to protect people and the ministry's mission.

Qualifications

• Basic Law Enforcement Training completed.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an officer or equivalent.
• Eligible to complete PPS training and certification.
• Proficient keyboarding and computer skills preferred.
• Self-motivated, trustworthy, mature and proactive.
• Fluency in English required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of staff, visitors, and property on campus.
• Screen pedestrian and vehicle traffic; control after-hours access.
• Perform regular patrols; monitor surveillance and alarms.
• Greet staff/visitors; follow safety regulations and notify law enforcement when needed.
• Document incidents in logs and reports; support ministry mission.
• Carry out other duties as needed.

Samaritan's Purse is hiring a Security Officer to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. In this vital role, you'll help ensure the safety and security of our staff, visitors, and property across the Samaritan's Purse campus. In the role of Security Officer,you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ

Conduct yourself as a security professional at all times, maintaining a visible and welcoming presence that helps deter undesirable activity and supports a safe ministry environment.

Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic, control access during non-business hours, and open, close, and secure buildings according to established schedules and procedures.

Conduct regular physical patrols and monitor video surveillance, access-control systems, fire and burglar alarms, and other security equipment to identify threats, hazards, or unauthorized activity.

Greet staff and visitors, whenever practical, remain familiar with Samaritan's Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and safety regulations, and promptly identify threatening individuals and notify local law enforcement when necessary.

Report hazardous conditions, follow established emergency call-in procedures, and accurately document noteworthy activity in shift logs or incident reports, helping protect people and property in support of the ministry's mission.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

Basic Law Enforcement Training and minimum 2 years' experience as a Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent, required

Must be eligible to complete/pass annual PPS training and certification as a PPS Officer through the North Carolina State Attorney General's office

Basic keyboarding and computer skills, strongly preferred

Motivated self-starter; sees a need and takes initiative

Trustworthy and mature

Patients when tasks are routine, but quick on their feet to respond to a crisis

Fluency in English is required
